Makita XGT Angle Grinder: A Tool Worth Investing In

Makita has been consistently producing powerful and efficient tools and the XGT line is the perfect example of their dedication to engineering. The XGT line has been designed to handle heavy-duty applications with ease and their current line of angle grinders are no different. In this article, we will explore one of the angle grinders from Makita, the GAG-13, and what makes it so special.

Variable Speed and Pressure Adaptation

The GAG-13 is perfect for those who need power and speed control in one package. With its variable speed, you have the ability to adjust the speed of the tool to match your needs. The GAG-13 also has a unique technology that allows you to put pressure on the tool at level one and it will maintain the same speed. This is perfect for situations where you need more power but don’t want to increase the speed.

Soft Start and X-Lock Technology

One of the features that make the GAG-13 stand out is its soft start technology. This feature ensures that the tool starts smoothly and safely. The paddle switch is also very comfortable to use. The GAG-13 also includes X-Lock technology which is perfect for those who need to switch between multiple larger pieces of attachments. With it, you can easily attach and detach the cutting guard without any fuss.

Ease of Use

The GAG-13 has a guard that can be turned 360 degrees and locked in place easily. It also has a button that, when pushed in, allows you to remove the guard easily. This ensures that you can use this tool in any situation without worrying about accidentally damaging the guard.

Why Choose Makita XGT Angle Grinders?

Makita XGT angle grinders are the perfect tool for those who require a high-powered yet efficient tool. With less heat and more power, the XGT line offers great run time and power control. The quality of the tool is unmatched and the run time is equivalent to less powerful, lower voltage grinders. The XGT line is perfect for those who need a powerful tool that can handle any job.

Investing in the GAG-13 is a great choice for those who need a powerful, efficient, and versatile tool. With its variable speed and pressure adaptation technology, soft start, X-Lock technology, and ease of use, the GAG-13 is a tool that is worth investing in. Additionally, Makita offers a three-year warranty on the GAG-13, making it a reliable investment for your future projects. With Makita’s dedication to engineering and quality, you can be sure that the GAG-13 and the XGT line will be a great addition to your tool collection.

  1. I have had the Bosch GWX 18v-15 SC for over a year now. I am in Canada, but this is the UK model. I got this one because it has the green led user interface which makes changing speed very easy. For some reason the north American version doesn't have it.
    I love the X-lock,
I love the power, from what I see its the same as the Makita grinder, so you can run it low but it won't stall out.
I've used it in -20c weather with no loss in performance,(although the batteries don't last quite as long when it's that cold), I usually 8ah or 12ah on this grinder.

  2. I like makita grinder, i its so quiet smooth pinnions or gears and confirtable in the hand.. now, i have xlock it is very fastest work.. when your back at normal grinder boring

  3. I just found that ACME tools is throwing in a FREE 4Ah battery with some Makita 40V angle grinders. Great deal at $269 – $279.

  4. My XGT grinder was fantastic. Competed with a “14 amp” Makita. Not as powerful as the Metabo 14amp. Replaces your everyday grinder no problem.

  5. Same here,I always go straight to xgt,lxt and metabo 18v to 36v batteries

  6. You said it all, xgt platform is awesome and very underrated. It has makita engineering, ergonomics and quality but it adds crazy power on top.

  7. Would love to see a comparison between this and the flexvolt dcg418. Is this also a 6" grinder or no?

  8. How is it compares to dcg418 and the dcg414?

  9. This grinder looks really awesome. 18v grinders are mostly for cutting yet

  10. I hope more manufacturers will adopt xlock in the future. It's been a huge time saver. In my shop I used to have 4 or 5 grinders each with a particular wheel on it, because that was a lot faster than constantly swapping them on and off. I only have one Xlock grinder now because it's faster just to swap wheels. They are still had to find at most big box stores though, so if I'm working on site I bring a regular grinder incase I need to borrow or go grab a wheel at the store.

  11. Obviously not really apples-to-apples at different voltages, but for fun, if you could have only one of the following: DCG416VSB (20v), GAG11 (40v), DCG418 (60v), which would you pick?

  12. Interesting, When dewalt show to us Flexvolt grinder both variable speed?)

  13. Excellent video Brian! That grinder is a beast.
