Klein Tools Test and Measurement Digital Meters

Hey everyone, Brian from Workshop Addicts here. Today, I want to go over Klein Tools Test and Measurement Digital Meters. They have some new releases, and in fact, they have some tough meters that can be dropped from 6.6 feet. I’ll be covering the MM 700 and the CL 800. These are very nice devices designed for electricians, who are always on the go, to be used on the job site.

The MM 700 Meter

The MM 700 is IP 42 rated for water, ensuring that it can handle droplets and minor splashes. We use these types of meters all over our shop, and they have a lot of functions well beyond what I know how to use. They are designed to withstand the abuse expected when they are dropped, get wet, or even experience rain. Having a durable meter like the MM 700 is essential, especially since they are not always cheap to replace.

The CL 800 Meter

On the other hand, we have the CL 800. This meter is IP 40 rated and, like the MM 700, will also able to survive a fall from 6.6 feet. These tough meters have been working very well for us in various conditions, including inside and outside the shop. We’ve used them in wet conditions, and they’ve performed excellently.

We’ve accidentally dropped these meters a few times, and they’ve managed to stay functional. Although, of course, we’re never going to try to intentionally break them! These durable meters are ideal for electricians who are constantly on the go and need reliable tools that can withstand rough use.

Features and Benefits

These Klein Tools digital meters have a lot of features that will serve you well. They are very easy to read with a clear, backlit screen. Everything on these tools is of the highest quality and designed to make your work more efficient.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you’re an electrician constantly working on the go, Klein Tools’ test and measurement digital meters, such as the MM 700 and CL 800, are fantastic options for you. These tough meters have been designed to withstand drops from 6.6 feet and endure various weather conditions, making them an ideal choice for those working in challenging environments.

  1. I have the CL 800 I love it best clamp meter for the money.

  2. I just recently bought the 700 MM and every time I turn it on it shows all the symbols on the LCD screen. So here's my question. I notice on the far right-hand corner there is a Bluetooth symbol, the manual does not show the symbol on its printed pages nor does it make any reference to it. So what I would like to know is whether it was just a fluke on the manufacturers part or does this multimeter have some sort of Bluetooth option I am not aware of.

  3. You should use a variac to test the meter's ability to adjust to voltage swings. You can use a bridge rectifier to use it to test DC pretty easily also. I find that most multimeters do fine with voltage but I only trust Fluke when it comes to resistance…I've seen too much inconsistencies with other meters in that regard.

  4. I have the Klein MM 500 and it is a great little meter. Klein makes great tools.

  5. Thanks for the review Brian!

  6. Should do a comparison with fluke
