What’s In the Box: Bosch CORE18V Battery

hi everyone Brian Wavra with Acme tools
here with an edition of our what's in the box we've gone and asked our
manufacturers to send this new products innovative products that I've never seen
before and today we're going to open up the box and we receive Jim Bob
okay initially we've got four HDS 182 – OH – which is their 18 volt drill driver
which we have seen before here's what's new all right this is the gxs 18 vol.1
and 14 that are known as the core 18 volt battery no it's a 6.3 amp battery
initial reaction this is about the same size as everybody else's 3 to 4 amp hour
battery ok it's nice and comfortable it's very well balanced you can tell
there's a little bit of a heavier battery on here but again then it comes
with a 2 amp hour battery and we put a 6 amp hour battery on it it's not three
times as heavy so that's a good thing but it is three times longer runtime we
have a one inch Forstner bit setup we're just going to go into this 4×4 and we'll
see how it does those in the highest speed so the drill did very well we're
to step it up and go a little bit larger bit see what – just will do see if the
battery makes a difference you know we're using probably inch and a
half okay so it did the inch and a half it
didn't cut out on me once so I'm going to turn it down to the slower speed give
us more torque and we'll go to a little bit larger bit here we're looking at a
to the nation's you see that the drill did a good job
with this larger bit we did have to move it down to the slower speed to get more
torque but that's pretty normal when we pull the battery out of the box it was
only on one one light of the fuel gauge here it's still there I was a little
concerned with running you know some bigger bits but we might lose the
battery especially coming straight out of a brand new box but haven't having
the core et volt battery not a problem thanks to Bosh for sending the core 18
volt battery we really appreciate it and appreciate you watching the video stay
