Title: Worked like new!
Review: This was a refurbished item but it hardly looked like it. It looked new and came exactly as advertised. Worked with batteries I already had and it makes an excellent addition to my tools. Price was excellent.

Title: Ryobi 18v Brad nailer
Review: Operates as advertised. Love the small light that comes on showing the surface you are nailing thru. Put on a chair rail moulding up on a large room, still had 3/4 battery life left.

Title: Solid and convenient, but missing a few options.
Review: The Good:First I have to say, this battery powered brad nailer is SO much more convenient than dragging out the air compressor and untangling and knocking crap over with the hose. Not to mention the worry of a compressor explosion gnawing at my mind. It's not as strong or versatile as an air model, but for general use, this Ryobi is awesome! The Not So Good:One problem is, with the nail depth set as deep as it will go, and the power as high as it will go, it only sinks the nails maybe a mm below the surface. Then with the nail depth set as shallow as it will go, and the power as low as it will go, the nail head is only maybe a mm ABOVE the surface. So not a lot of options.Worst of all, I was expecting the "multi-nail" option where as long as the trigger is squeezed, it will fire every time you touch the tip to the workpiece. That is completely missing. So I have to pull the trigger for each shot. No biggie, but it does become a hassle with bigger jobs. All in all, it was well worth the price. I put my compressed-air model on Craigslist, so no looking back!

Title: Does the same job as a pneumatic tool with a lot less hassle
Review: I use a table saw to build small and medium wood items like shelves and tables, and then usually a brad nailer (18 gauge brads) to fasten pieces quickly. Brads are not structurally competitive with screws, but have similar shear strength to nails. For many years, I used a pneumatic 18 gauge brad nailer connected to a cheap oil-less pancake compressor. The pneumatic tool is connected to an air hose that limits its movement, and oil-less compressors make a lot of noise. The only drawback of this cordless tool is that it goes through batteries relatively quickly. I find that Ryobi OEM 18v 4aH batteries are good for about 200 2 inch brads sunk flush, so I keep one battery on the charger to rotate with the battery in use. The tool is otherwise equally sturdy and adjustable, and about the same weight, as the pneumatic equivalent. Glad I made the switch. The cordless can go wherever it is needed without having to reposition the air hose. the noise of the brad being set into the wood is minor compared to compressor noise. Unlike the pneumatic tool, there is no simultaneous discharge of a burst of air. The Ryobi design is also commendable in allowing quick removal of the occasionally mis-fed brad. Be sure to take the battery off before opening the mechanism. Finally, I found some youtube videos with excellent tips on how to avoid blowouts and improper depth sets, specifically as to this tool.

Title: Doesn't work
Review: Purchased refurbished, and unfortunately only dispensed about a dozen nails before it failed. Either won't dispense at all, jams, or nails only insert about halfway.
