Easy to use on my small task
I liked the ease of sanding down the area I needed to fix, and these worked great to help me do that chore

Excellent
These are better than the 3M sponges I bought and returned to the bigbox store. The worked perfectly for finish sanding of concave curved and complex molding surfaces after the initial stripping was done. The grits match my other sanding papers and do the job I need. I will add they only last about 3-4 times longer than paper on each surface/corner so you may need more than one or two. I worked through 2 on two cabinet doors, but felt it was worth the money for the convenience.

Quality product to work with.
These sanding blocks are very firm making it easy to smooth out divots in old wood. Sanding between coats of polyurethane and the end result is a smooth flat surface. My current project is an antique dresser that is one hundred seventeen years old with an over abundance of ripples in the grain. I purchased quite a few of these sanding blocks expecting to be wearing them out left and right. The dresser is nearly done and I am still using the original sanding block. Have to vacuum the sanding dust so vacuum off the sanding block at the same time. They are as light as a feather and easy to hold in the palm of your hand. I will recommend this product to anyone that appreciates good tools to work with and not having to spend a lot of money to get the job done.

wore out fast
I was smoothing out some small, weathered bird houses and ran out of these useful little sanding sponges I found left behind in a grandparent’s wood working area. I don’t know what brand they were but I went looking for more. I even used a hand sander for much of it before trying to use these sanding blocks where the sander didn’t fit or along the edges.I didn’t even get 1 little wren house done before wearing out one side of a 60 grit sponge. When I tried to smooth the edges of some lightly chewed squirrel feeders the sponge tore to shreds on the slightest bit of uneven rough wood or tiny splinters. Not being able to rip it with your hands does not make it durable. Add the slightest sharpness to a surface or edge of something and it will slice into these far easier than it would your own skin. The 60 grit is more like using 100grit sand paper for how rough of surface it can smooth out, how much effort it takes, and how quickly it wears itself smooth when trying to sand anything that still has a rough wood grain. These sponges are probably more effective for evening out or removing things off finished wood like sanding away some paint than for smoothing out the actual wood underneath.I know there are better sanding sponges because I had some. I guess I will have to keep testing brands until I find an equivalent. These aren’t worth using on unfinished wood. You definitely won’t get more than one use out of them unless you are only sanding a tiny area.
