Got this so I could have my vacuum hose connect to my handheld saw. Fits it perfectly but is a bit big for my specific hose. Will probably have to buy a bigger unit with larger diameter hoses attachments

I’m not happy DeWalt forces me to buy an adapter to use a shop vac with my new DeWalt random orbital sander. An adapter like this should be included with the DeWalt sander.Good news is this aftermarket (non-OEM) adapter appears to be same quality as the OEM DeWalt DWV9000 and fits my DeWalt DWE6423 sander just fine — for nearly half the cost of the OEM DeWalt DWV9000 adapter. No need to spend more for the DeWalt product.Neither this adapter nor the OEM DeWalt adapter fits the hose on my DeWalt 10 gal. shop vac. As others have noted, however, this adapter (and the OEM DeWalt DWV9000) fits perfectly on the 10 ft. hose that comes with the Rigid 1-1/4 inch Premium Car Cleaning Accessory Kit (Model #VT2534), which, fortunately, I happened to have. This adapter will also fit the 10 ft. hose that comes with Harbor Freight’s new Bauer Premium Auto Detailing Kit (SKU 70645), which is a knockoff of Rigidâs car cleaning accessory kit. The Bauer kit from Harbor Freight is less than half the price of the Rigid kit. If you’re buying the kit just for the hose to use with a sander, get the Bauer kit.

Worked fairly well!
I got this connector for my Dewalt sander, DCW210, and it connects to it well. I have the 10 gallon Dewalt shop vac and the hose end is similar in size making it difficult to connect to this connector. However, if you have a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up the plastic sleeve on this item, it makes it more pliable and thus, can get the shop vac hose end into this connector easily. I just left it connector on the shop vac hose to widen the connector slightly. Works great!

Fits my sander/miter saw
I use this adapter with my DWS779 and DCV581H 2 gallon vacuum. The thicker part of the adapter goes into the dust hole of the saw and turning the ring on the adapter keeps it attached. The vacuum hose goes into the thinner part and sits there almost perfect, but I had to use electrician tape to make it sealed. Also you can remove it from the saw and attach it to a dewalt sander and the ring will keep it attached too.

Doesn’t fit dewalt shop vac hose diameter and doesn’t lot to tool.
This product arrived without the pictured ball bearings to lock the hose onto your tool. In addition, this does not fit onto a dewalt shop vac hose. Needed a smaller shop vac hose, super glue and duct tape to make it work.

This Absolutely will work with 1 1/4 inch hoses
this adapter will absolutely work with 1.25 inch hoses. The trick is you have to remove any nozzle that is attached to your hose because the adapter is threaded on the inside and it is designed to thread onto the one in a quarter inch hose if you have any type of nozzle on the end of your hose it will not thread into the adapter, so simply remove that nozzle, and then thread just the hose part into the adapter. It works perfectly. I have a Stanley portable shop vac, and at first I could not get the hose to attached to the adapter because at the end of my hose is about a 6 inch long piece of plastic that other adapter pieces slide onto. I had to remove this 6 inch long piece of plastic by twisting it out of my hose, then I simply threaded my hose into the adapter and it worked perfectly.
