Thermal Imaging Cameras: Top to Bottom Review

Thermal imaging cameras have been essential tools in various industries such as construction, electrical, and mechanical works. These cameras are used to detect hotspots and temperature changes that are not visible to the naked eye. Handheld thermal imaging cameras have been available in the market for years, but recently a new type of tool has been introduced – the small infrared P2 Pro that connects to your phone. In this article, we will take an in-depth look at the P2 Pro app and the thermal imaging camera.

Overview of P2 Pro App
The P2 Pro app is a free app that can be downloaded on your phone, and it can also work without the thermal imaging camera. The app can accommodate different units for temperature measurements and allows you to change the palettes from various options such as the rainbow palette. It also has points of temperature measurements, a video recording option, and an image capture option.

Review of Thermal Imaging Camera
The thermal imaging camera that we will discuss is the small infrared P2 Pro that connects to your phone through the USBC port. It comes with a cable that extends the connection, and it has a magnetic lens that zooms in further. The camera can read temperatures and detect hot and cold spots at a significant distance. The camera is valuable in detecting electrical hotspots, mechanical malfunction, and insulation failures.

Opinion on the App and Camera
The app and camera work hand in hand, and the app has a few things that could be improved. The app could take more time to load for in-depth thermal measurements, and sometimes it fails to save the video option. The camera, on the other hand, is small, compact, and easy to carry. It provides an excellent alternative over handheld thermal imaging cameras, especially when convenience is a concern. The P2 Pro camera is not recommended for hunting or e-tracking due to its limited range and scope, but it can serve as a useful tool in home inspections, trading, and other applications.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the small infrared P2 Pro that connects to your phone is an innovative and valuable tool that has its pros and cons. It is best suited for personal use rather than professional use in specific industry applications. The free app provides various options for temperature measurements, but it could be optimized further for specific thermal inspections. The camera is small, convenient, and effective in detecting hotspots and insulation failures. Therefore, if you are looking for a handier alternative to handheld thermal imaging cameras for personal use, then the small infrared P2 Pro that connects to your phone might just be the right investment for you!

  1. The Infiray thermal imaging camera has a high precision of up to 0.05℃, which can detect very small temperature changes.

  2. I have read many reviews and the P2pro is better suited for temperature measurement. If used for observation like in the outdoors, T2pro will be better👍

  3. Nice video! P2 Pro really amazed me because it supports secondary analysis of the temperature data in the thermal images. And I can connect it directly to the smartphone for plug-and-play accurate temperature measurement. Very convenient.

  4. Finally some good middle ground between total shit and something over $500!

  5. I like phone attachment, makes phone a wonderful tools. P2 looks so small, and the resolution is good enough for work.

  6. The product is very good, looking forward to testing in our construction projects. Came with a few extras which was nice.

  7. How about a review on the new CAT power tools

  8. Good effort but, reviewer is obviously clueless about IT technology if he is not realizing that usb connectors are interchangeable with adapters ie between micro USB and Type -C ect. Precisely because of this is a USB device it will have order of magnitude longer use with new software , connection to PC etc than the standalone device. Anyway thanks for the review

  9. Incredibly useful for checking our beehive winter clusters. Thank you.

  10. You should review the Klein thermal imager. I would like to see it in action. I'm not a big fan of no name tools anymore lol

  11. I like cell phone based tools. As for Android I can tell you 3 apps that will make you want to stay with Android. Not because they don't make apps for the iPhone, but mainly the Android phone is USB-C and typically has more memory for the money. I saved $600 over the same iPhone with comparable memory and battery by purchasing a Pixel. But any Android phone will work, so get the most memory you can afford.

The first thing I did on my Pixel was try all the web browsers because after using Safari I did not like where Google has taken Chrome. Firefox was ok but a big fail in the speed & design department. This may shock you, but Microsoft Edge on Android and Windows is almost flawless! I know what you are thinking, it's just another Chrome based browser. Well, not really. Edge is much more than just a facelift of Chrome. Believe me I was shocked too. I'm not a Microsoft fan.

Second is the Gmail app suck. For Power users try FairEmail. You still get html mail, but in a more readable format. Warning, this thing has a ton of options. You can install it like Chrome switching to Edge, disable Chrome app and Gmail app, you should not uninstall these.

Did I say 3 apps? ThinkDiag is a full blown professional level scan tool for iOS or Android. Cost around $300 after subscription for all car makes or $200 per year after purchasing the device, but ThinkDiag is Launch and as close to my $1800 Launch scan tool as you can get on a phone.

So why use ThinkDiag on Android and not the iPhone? Android typically has more RAM than the iPhone and graphs look better on Android in this app.

Now you have a Power Users Android phone! These apps make Android a great choice. You don't have to wait another year to get an iPhone with USB-C. You never know what Apples gone do. They might do away with the charging port altogether which will make it useless!

  12. So basically this thing sucks balls, but if someone clicks the link to the product in the video then you get a percentage of anything they purchase on Amazon for the next 24 hours. Nice clickbait!

  13. Thermal cameras are all about pixel resolution. What is the stated thermal resolution and camera pixel resolution. Usually stated in 2 different resolutions with the thermal resolution being what drives cost between pro and consumer units
