Realizing that this is an old video, I hope that you will see and answer my questions. I am thinking of ordering the upgraded version of this saw, the 555XH that comes already made for 12" resaw. My first question is, does it come separated from the stand? I have 200' from the road to my shop and it would be better for me if I have smaller and lighter pieces to move than one heavy piece. This is what has stopped me from getting an even larger saw. And also, are you still happy with it? Thank you
How was it delivered? How many packages were there? How difficult was it to set up as far as what has to be lifted?

So I am a week into my Grizzly I bought the GO555LX MODEL. I followed all the set up instructions closely, but saw seems louder than the one on this video, and especially when it winds down after turning off, it sounds like loud bearings. How do I know if it's louder than should be?
I would love to see a comparison between the Jet 14SFX, the Grizzly G0513X2, the Rikon 10-326, and the Shop Fox W1849. For most of these, I can't find any info except on the manufacturer sites, no in depth reviews, and definitely no comparisons. Help?

I have just purchased one a couple weeks ago. Also got the 6" riser with it also. Great machine, and it is heavy. The base is solid and heavy. I also got the mobile base for it. I am very happy with it and recommend this to anyone looking for a great bandsaw.
I know you did this review several years ago, so I hope you see this. I'm on the fence for the Extreme or Ultimate or LX. Agree, the rack and pinion guide post adjustment would be nice, but not necessarily a deal breaker… One question: I see the Extreme only has one blade speed, 3000 fpm, and the smaller models run a dual pulley to rotate 1800 or 3100 fpm. Do you find the saw lacking without the available slower blade speed? Otherwise, great review and appreciated. Thanks!

I wish I would had saw your video first before buying this Craftsman. Have been really unhappy with it. I have been eyeing this exact model. Just the other day I saw the 555 outside a pawn store. I stopped to look at it, but couldn’t get them to start it up for me (wife was with me). Suggestions as what to look for in a used one? Price was 375 with mobile base. Thanks for the review.

Good video. Is there a zero clearance blade insert or is double sided tape and a piece of plywood about as good as it gets? Can't find them in the catalog. Any suggestions.
I have the same one and found it extremely difficult to install a 3/16 blade. 3/8 and above is no problem but not matter what I seem to do I can't get the 3/16 to stay on . Any tips?

I have one of these and i agree 100%….the way i solve that allen wrench problem is i have put a rare earth magnet on under the cast iron and simply flop the wrench there.
I have this same saw use it more thany any tool I have For the Vacum Adapter I made one from PCV pipe no problem !

I can understand picking this saw up and years later deciding that you want to install a riser kit to expand its capabilities. But I can't understand doing it all around the same time when you can pick up a variant of the G0513 for just a few bucks more and get a 17" saw, 2 hp, 12" resaw etc. Unless you were VERY limited on space. Even then, I think I'd make the 17" fit.
Good luck on finding a vacuum adapter for the dust pickup. It doesn't fit any after market and Grizzly doesn't make one either. That is a real drawback. You can't use your shop vac with it unless you machine your own adapter. My 555 came with a dull blade and seized a bearing within the first hour. Two or three weeks to get one from Grizzly. I own quite a few Grizzly tools and parts are always very slow. It is a good saw for the money but certainly not a great saw. Grizzly also voids the warranty if you cut any kind of plastic with it. Which is crazy as plastic is not a challenge for a decent saw. Plexiglass, abs, etc are all commonly cut in a home shop. So I really wouldn't raise the cheerleading pom poms quite so high for it.

Definitely on my wish list. Just a couple of corrections, the G0555x actually uses cast iron flywheels over the G0555, which does, indeed, have aluminum flywheels. Also, the 14" size refers to the flywheel size, which corresponds to the distance between the blade and the other side of the blade in the return channel, which explains why you only get 13-1/2" to the guard.
It seems like the good points & the bad points weigh about the same.
Too much vibration on mobile base..have to pull the guide post up and down.. door have snap closures..storage door in the rear.
Nice castings..ability to go to 220.. polyurethane tires.
I have a few Grizzly tools (Jointer/ Sanders and so on) but I think this is one Grizzly tool I won't be going to when it's time for a change.
What Mobile base are you using. I got the one they recommended on the site and I am not very happy with it.
I have that exact same saw with the riser block and love it. The Grizzly showroom is just north of me so I picked it up myself. The customer service is great and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone. The fence is great to have. Especially when you lay it flat for this items.
