In same socket, can 18v tool use 20v battery?
I haven't pick one up yet but soon will as I have one drill I could use it on.. Only problem I heard if you leave the battery in the unit it will drain the battery. Not a problem for me as I never leave a battery in any tool.
Why is it so thick? I wonder if anyone with a 3d printer could make a thinner version.

This isn't great. What would have been great is if Dewalt had come out with a line of 18V lithium batteries instead of the non-compatible line of 20V stuff that is really just 20 volts with different connections.

I have a 18v drill and 2 batteries, which I'm happy with. I was thinking of picking up a tool-only impact driver to match it at $99. But for $159 I could replace it all with a 20v max combo kit (non-brushless). Should I just switch to the 20v and future proof myself?
