Black and Decker Mouse Detail Sander: BDEMS600 Review

In today’s video, we will be testing out and reviewing the Black and Decker Mouse Detail Sander. The model number for this sander is BDEMS600. To get started, let me first go over what is included in the package and the different features of this sander.

What’s Inside the Box?

After unboxing, here’s what you will find:

  • The Black and Decker Mouse Sander
  • Instruction manual
  • 240 grit sanding sheet
  • 120 grit sanding sheet
  • Detail finger attachment
  • Detail finger sanding sheet

It is important to read through and understand the information in the instruction manual before using the Black and Decker Mouse Sander. Additionally, make sure to practice safety precautions and wear proper safety equipment while using this tool.

Installing the Sanding Pads

Before installing a sanding pad, make sure the sander is off and unplugged. To install the sanding pad, align the holes on the pad with the holes on the sander and gently press it into place. As you use the sander, the front part of the sanding pad may wear down. In that case, you can remove the pad, flip it over and use the other side.

Using the Detail Finger Attachment

To install the detail finger attachment, first, ensure that the sander is off and unplugged. Remove the screw on the sander with a Phillips head screwdriver and then attach the detail finger attachment using the same screw. Lastly, attach the detail finger sanding sheet by gently pressing it into place.

Testing the Black and Decker Mouse Sander

In the video, we tested the sander on a piece of wood. We set it up to see how well it works on a corner and edge. It did a really good job at sanding the wood, corner, and edge. Overall, we were very happy with the performance of the sander.

Cleaning and Dust Collection

A crucial feature of this sander is the dust collection canister. To remove it, make sure the tool is both off and unplugged and that safety precautions have been taken. The instruction manual recommends emptying the dust collection canister every 10 minutes of sanding. To empty the canister:

  1. Hold it over a garbage can
  2. Open the top by lifting up on the plastic tabs
  3. Empty the dust
  4. Put the top back on by lining it up and gently pressing down until it snaps back into place
  5. Make sure the top is secure and the canister is fully in place before continuing to use the sander

Final Recap and Review of the Black and Decker Mouse Detail Sander

After thoroughly testing the Black and Decker Mouse Sander, we found it to be a great sander with various useful features. It is easy to hold and maneuver while in use, and the sanding pads were simple to install. The reversible tips are a plus, and the dust collection canister did an excellent job in collecting the dust created during sanding.

While the detail finger attachment was not used during testing, we believe it will be helpful in future projects. Furthermore, this sander is likely to be beneficial for arcade projects, which can be found on our channel.

Overall, the Black and Decker Mouse Detail Sander is a great investment for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use sander. Thank you for watching this video, and please like, subscribe, and comment for more content.
