Hey everybody Brian Wavra with Acme tools we're
on site today with Jacob from Timber Nash designs and he reached out to us
through Instagram just kind of joking asking us to come over and clean the
snow off the roof of his house and we thought it'd be a great idea to come
over and show the Avalanche Snow Rake now have you cleaned the snow off your house
in the past yes what what kind of rake did you use or what did you use I used
the you know the old-school rough rakes long handle doesn't collapse yeah just a
big shovel I guess how they are how'd that go I they're tough it's you end up
pulling all that snow down it's a lot of weight to pull and the whole thing comes
on you at once sure so what we've got today is the Avalanche Snow Rake and this is
almost exactly the way you're gonna see it coming out of the box we're gonna go
ahead and assemble it for you and then we'll get set up and we're gonna start
taking the snow off the roof of his house there's gonna try a few different
techniques what we've noticed is that the closer you can get to the same
height as the roof the easier it is and then of course the farther you can get
on top of the roof so we're gonna try a ladder we're gonna try some we're gonna
try walking on top of the snow I mean if we've got pads to help us with
that so let's get this together and we'll show you how that goes so
assembling this the first thing you want to do is take this Center yoke and you
can see they they made it Brian proof there's an L in an R that corresponds to
an L and an R on these brackets that's all you're doing is putting these in
snapping these in place and then the end of the brackets these get snapped in now the only thing
you want to make sure is that the plastic slide comes out toward you or
towards the handle I'm taking that we're now going to put on our first section of
handles this is all straight forward just snapping your handles together the
first time you put it together you will have to put these silver connectors in
together and then the big important thing is to remember the black handle
goes on your end so that's the very last one and now we're all set up we got
sixteen feet to clear we're gonna try a little bit just from the ground just to
see how this does and then we'll show you why we're going
to want to be using a ladder later on so now we're going to continue to go
through we're gonna do his whole roof and then we'll check back with in a
little bit all right so as you can see we've got
the whole house done for as far as we could reach it took us about 40 45
minutes we didn't have an official time on but we know when we got here and we
know what time it is now so you'll get the picture but you can really see the
advantage that we have with the Avalanche Snow Rake it's one motion push it
up the roof all the snow comes down we're not taking six inch chunks and
pulling it down and then another six inches and pulling it down so the speed
and the wear and tear on the operator is greatly
well the speeds increased in the wear and tear on the operator is greatly
reduced you want to say thank you to Jacob for allowing us to come over and
remove the snow from his house we want to thank you for watching we also remind
you to go check out his Instagram page and his website at timber and ash
designs.com and remember to always do your best work
