I stuck the 3-incher on my fan motor (with 6-inch shaft, the end of which I had drilled and threaded a 1/4-20 hole), added the sleeve, and tightened it up and voila–a perfect horizontal free-standing sander.

These are pretty darn great spindle sander sleeves.The grits seem accurate and comparable to other brands. A month of burning through pine and poplar making reindeer models and they are holding up and wearing down as expected. Durability and longevity are not an issue.The backer does not have a seam that will affect the workpiece or sanding in any way and is made of a very durable material that doesn’t show signs of ripping. That said, flip your sleeves/barrels every few uses for good measure and to reduce wear on your rubber spindles.These are currently in a drawer under a WEN sander. The same generic white-label machine that is sold by Ryobi, Powertec, Grizzly, RIKON, PowerMax, Triton, Wood River, Shop Fox, Central Machinery, and countless others. They are all the same identical sander other than the label and paint job. These will work great on all of them. The height/length and diameter of the set are all up to par.As far as sandpaper and workshop consumables go, these are a fantastic choice.
