Powerful 7.2A Motor Performance: What We Discovered

The 7.2A motor is the heart of this drywall sander, and it didn’t disappoint during our extended testing. We found it provided consistent power without bogging down, even when applying moderate pressure on stubborn high spots. The motor runs surprisingly smooth with minimal vibration, which becomes increasingly important during those longer sanding sessions that can stretch into hours.

What really caught our attention was how efficiently it handled different drywall compounds. From lightweight all-purpose joint compound to heavier setting-type materials, the motor maintained steady performance throughout. We never experienced the frustrating slowdowns or stalling that plagued some of our previous sanders.

6 Variable Speed Settings: Finding Your Perfect Rhythm (900-1800 RPM)

The variable speed control quickly became one of our favorite features. Having six distinct speed settings ranging from 900 to 1800 RPM gave us precise control for different applications:

**Lower Speeds (900-1200 RPM):** We used these for final finishing passes and delicate areas around corners. The slower speed reduced the risk of over-sanding and gave us better control over the finish quality.

**Medium Speeds (1200-1500 RPM):** This sweet spot worked perfectly for general sanding tasks and became our go-to setting for most projects.

**Higher Speeds (1500-1800 RPM):** When we needed to remove material quickly or tackle rough surfaces, these higher speeds proved invaluable, significantly reducing project time.

The speed dial is conveniently located and easy to adjust on the fly, even while wearing work gloves—a small detail that made a big difference in workflow efficiency.

Integrated Vacuum Dust Collection System: A Game-Changer

Let’s be honest: drywall dust is the bane of any finishing project. We’ve worked with sanders that claimed to have dust collection before, but this system genuinely impressed us. When connected to our shop vacuum, it captured approximately 85-90% of the dust we generated—a remarkable improvement over traditional sanding methods.

The vacuum attachment connects securely and accommodates most standard shop vacuum hoses. We tested it with both 1.25-inch and 1.5-inch hoses, and both connected without issues. The airflow design channels dust directly from the sanding pad through the integrated collection port, minimizing the amount that escapes into your workspace.

During one particularly large ceiling project, we worked for three hours straight, and the difference in air quality compared to our old manual methods was night and day. We could actually see what we were doing without dust clouds obscuring our view, and cleanup time was reduced by more than half.

LED Light Illumination: Spotting Imperfections Made Easy

The built-in LED light might seem like a minor addition, but it proved to be one of the most practical features during our testing. Positioned to illuminate the sanding surface directly, it helped us spot imperfections, low spots, and uneven areas that would have otherwise required multiple passes to discover.

We found this especially useful when working on ceilings or in corners with limited natural light. The LED draws minimal power, runs cool, and produces bright, even lighting that doesn’t create harsh shadows. Several times during our review period, we caught issues early that would have required additional touch-ups later—saving time and materials.

Foldable and Extendable Handle: Ergonomics That Actually Work

The adjustable handle system deserves special mention. We tested the sander at various extension lengths ranging from approximately 3.5 feet to 6 feet, and the locking mechanism held firm throughout every session. This adjustability proved essential for different applications:

**Extended Position:** Perfect for ceiling work and upper wall sections. We’re both around 5’10” and could comfortably reach 9-foot ceilings without a ladder for most areas.

**Mid-Length:** Ideal for standard wall heights when you want good control but don’t need maximum reach.

**Collapsed Position:** Great for detailed work, lower wall sections, or storage.

The foldable feature is brilliant for transport and storage. The handle folds down to roughly half its extended length, making it easy to fit in our work truck alongside other tools. The folding mechanism feels solid and shows no signs of wear even after dozens of fold/unfold cycles.

Ergonomically, the handle design distributes weight well. Even during extended sanding sessions, we didn’t experience the shoulder fatigue that typically comes with overhead work. The grip areas are comfortable, and the overall balance of the tool feels natural in hand.

Comprehensive Accessory Package: 9 Sandpaper Discs and 3 Grid Sandpapers

Right out of the box, this drywall sander comes ready to work with an impressive selection of abrasives. The included package features:

– 9 traditional sandpaper discs in various grits
– 3 grid sandpaper pieces (mesh-style)

During our testing, we worked through several of these to evaluate their quality and performance. The sandpaper discs attached securely to the velcro backing pad and showed good durability. We typically got 200-300 square feet of coverage from each disc depending on the surface condition and grit level.

The grid sandpaper (also called mesh sandpaper) became our preferred choice for most applications. These mesh-style abrasives don’t clog as quickly as traditional sandpaper because dust passes through the holes rather than accumulating on the surface. We noticed significantly longer lifespan with the grid papers, often doubling the coverage we got from standard discs.

The assortment includes different grit levels suitable for various stages of finishing—from initial material removal to final smoothing. While we eventually supplemented with additional paper for our larger projects, the included selection provided an excellent starting point and let us test different options to find our preferences.

Full Green Design: More Than Just Aesthetics

The distinctive Full Green color scheme isn’t just about looking different in your tool collection. During our testing across multiple job sites, the bright green color made the sander easy to spot among other tools and materials—a surprisingly practical benefit when you’re juggling multiple tasks.

The finish appears to be a durable powder coating that resisted scratches and scuffs throughout our review period. We accidentally knocked it off a workbench once (occup

Reliable Sander with Great Visibility and Solid Build
I used this drywall sander to smooth out seams and patches in a basement remodel, and it really made the job easier. The LED ring light is a game changer—helped me spot high spots right away without needing extra lighting. It is heavier than I expected, but that actually helped it stay steady on the wall without bouncing around. The vacuum hose worked well with my shop vac, though a bit of fine dust still escaped. Assembly was quick, and the extra sanding discs saved me a trip to the store. It’s not perfect, but for weekend projects or finishing a few rooms, it’s a very capable tool that feels solid in your hands.

    Great Tool
This drywall sander works great & is definitely a great addition to my tool’s for projects. I used this to help a friend with a bedroom renovation and was amazed at how well it worked. This sander makes the job go quickly & way less messier! The built in dust collection system keeps the dust down to a minimum amount! There are LED lights that make working in low-lighted areas no problem without getting out extra work lights. The extendable handle makes it easier to reach ceilings and high walls. It is priced great and even comes with sanding pads to get you started on your first project. Quality built & had stability when in use. It has some weight to it but isn’t overly heavy so it’s still easy to work with. I think with a quick change of grit/sanding pads I could use this for other projects than just drywall sanding! I can’t wait to start another project to use this as it made the job go quick & gave great finished results!!

A nice sander, heavy and was hard for me to handle
It’s a nice sander. My only problem was, that it is so heavy I couldn’t hold it for very long while sanding the ceiling. I’m 59 and have pretty good upper body strength, but it got the best of me. It was awkward to angle correctly. It could just have been me needing to practice more. The vacuum function worked nice

    Not great.
Don’t buy this if you’re a professional. Don’t buy it if you’re an amateur either, honestly. Dust collection is a joke and it’s almost too heavy to use. They should make the engineering and design team that produced this monstrosity use it for an hour so they can know what flavor of goofy nonsense the end user is left to deal with. It’s like holding an overweight angry beaver that wants to bounce around and spit dust in your eyes over your head. They know how heavy their product is, as it comes with documents telling you it’s heavy and to take breaks, but didn’t do a darn thing about it before mass producing it. The strap on the dust bag makes no sense, has an adjustment slide that does not adjust the strap length, and if you use the strap to carry the bag, the dust won’t fill the bag, it just clogs the hose. The buttons and switches are poorly placed, especially the light on/off. Never in my life have I been more disappointed in a tool purchase. Type in “best drywall sander” into Amazon and this guy is right at the top of the list. Lies. This thing isn’t even a good drywall sander, let alone the best. If this is the best then I would hate to see how all the other products perform. Shame on you MYTOL for manufacturing this abomination, and shame on me for believing your marketing team.

    Very good sander
Sander worked amazing! Saved me a lot of trouble and cut out the dust that is usually produced. The sandpaper included is actually good and lasts .The light is the best part because it shows where you need to feather areas. Real good deal and good quality.

Drop the coin and get the prouduct
For a DIY this is a 10 star product. I hate Sanding Sheetrock, for that fact I dislike doing anything with sheetrock, it’s a mess, heavy to be around, but I digress, back to the review…. I always sand to much and my wife complains I have made a mess with dust (dust on everything..can you relate??) Problem solved with this tool. It’s fast, effortless, and attaching it up to a shop vac with a long hose to pull the dust made it “virtually” dustless with what I would call professional results. As I mentioned I have a long shop vac hose (ordered from Amazon) for my orange color box store shop vac which allowed me to place the shop vac outside and run the hose inside attaching directly to the sander. Sanded the kitchen remodel literally in minutes. It’s a tad heavy to hold for long periods if you are doing a ceiling, but again this is a DIY user not a person that does it for a living that would have a lightweight professional grade sander. It folds down nicely to place in its storage bag waiting for its next DIY job. I highly recommend if you order also get a long hose for your shop vac with multiple hose ends so you can clip on the proper size end onto the hose for a snug fit to the sander end. Yes it has a dust bag attached, but I didn’t use it so I can’t review how well it collected dust, personally I think the shop vac is a better option. Also order a selection of different grit sanding disks. The grit range I used was 180 to 220. The Sanding speed switch on the sander I didn’t go much higher than 2 or 3 (out of multiple speeds) and most times I used slow speed 1 to help ensue I wasn’t sanding to much or tearing the Sheetrock. It came out beautiful with professional results, I have been asked by neighbors “who did my Sheetrock work, because it looks great”. 😉. Top coat with a good primer, texture if you wish and use a high quality paint for professional results, but remember it all starts with the tape, mud and how well you sand. This tool sands well with 10 plus stars for this DIY user. Don’t go crazy with mud, remember, applying mud is an art, spread it out and float it. It a wall illusion that it’s all looks flat and consistent to the eye. Happy Sanding.
